Reflecting back on Bio-site is a little tricky since I sadly didn't get the chance to participate as I was absent one of the days and the other my 4th period teacher didn't allow me to come in and teach. But, It went over well and went very smooth with my teammates and they gladly filled me in. The kids caught on to the subject very quickly and embraced it with great interest. The preparation that It took for all this to pull off was worth it and i'm very glad they did it because the process was very easy and the kids took a liking to the worms. It showed the kids that science could be fun and not just another subject in school that they have to sit through. If they get a good experience learning from us, then they will grow up enjoying science and school as a whole. My teammates taught with leadership and confidence and I think that really showed through to the kids. When they have a younger teacher they can relate to, they absorb the information more than normal. Teaching kids is a fun and new idea that I'm upset i missed. I know it would have taught me organization, leadership, compassion and how to interact with kids better. If i combine last semester's knowledge with the preparation from this semester, I am able to put myself in the position of my hard working and amazing teammates. I really like that school has taught me something other than just numbers and facts. There's nothing better than when I am able to truly get something out of almost teaching. I overall enjoyed myself, even if all I was able to do was lesson planning, and I think that the kids did too.
