Duke's BioSITE Story #2

During the actual teaching days, things actually went pretty smoothly. There were a few stations where we ran out of time and could not get to the Flash Card activity, but other than that, the fourth graders left learning a lot. I handled the introduction and explained why we need to protect pollinators from going extinct. Then we moved on to the dissection. We used the microscopes to get a better look at the flowers. Then the kids used flash cards to match words and phrases together. In the end of it all, it went smoothly for the most part. Though one thing that could have gone better was the speed. One of the stations didn't even get to the flash card game since there were so many questions the kids had, so that could have gone better. But asking questions let them learn even more so that wasn't that bad. Even I learned more because this helped me do my blog post for the Story of the Seed project. Overall, it was a great experience.
