The day the 4th graders came, Nikol and I were set up behind the shed, by the composting bins. This was so we could connect our topic of worms to compost! Most of the 4th graders were awesome, and wanted to learn about worms! But, there’re always some kids who think that hurting worms is fun. I think that Nikol and I did a good job stopping them, and teaching them that it wasn’t okay to hurt them. For all the other topics and activities, the kids all were perfect. By the end, the kids definitely knew more about the worms than they did when they got there. I think that one thing Nikol and I needed to improve on was ask, don’t tell. Biret helped us to understand how that helps the kids participate a lot more. I really like Biosite because it helps younger kids get into science and learn cool things! It also gives a opportunity for high schoolers to work with younger kids and teach.
