In order to prepare for teaching the fourth graders, the first and most important thing we had to do was report to the BioSITE meeting every Tuesday at tutorial. There, we would get teaching tips, do the activities the fourth graders would be doing, and discuss our lesson plans. About 1-2 weeks leading up to the actual lesson we began to form our lesson plan. We thought about how our teachers organised their lessons, as well as how we thought a lesson should be laid out. We used these two things as inspiration for our lesson plan. Finally, we got to teaching the fourth graders. Each time we completed a lesson we would analyse what we could do better and differently for the next rotation. This helped improve our teaching skills with each rotation and it will make our teaching skills even better this coming spring.
