Tommy Callahan Post #2

Teaching the fourth graders was really fun. Me and Jonathan always have a hard time deciding what we want to do for our ESLP, so we tried BioSITE and it ended up being a blast. I definitely want to do it next semester because I've always thought teaching other people was really fun and interesting. And the best part is that you get to learn things yourself. The main things I found out from the experience are that (1) fourth graders are smarter than you think, (2) the best way to learn is to teach, and (3) fourth graders always prefer interactive activities over listening to a lesson. Finally, what I learned was that (1) disposable diapers take 550 years to decompose, (2) compost is mostly populated by millipedes, and (3) natural materials decompose far faster than artificial materials, like plastic.
