The kids were amazing. They were interested, curious and certainly seemed like they were entertained. We kept them busy with activity after activity. They smiled a lot and sometimes tried to make conversation with us. The process of presenting information to them ran a lot smoother than I thought it would have. My team and I did excellent, and so did the kids. We only had a few who didn't pay attention. I didn't know kids could want to learn so much about vegetables. Lots even already knew a ton, and I felt as If  I was learning with them. BioSITE was a really exciting opportunity that I know I will want to do again. During the time we were preparing for the final date, I was constantly gaining more knowledge. Everything seemed so interesting and I felt it was that way for the kids too. My entire team, including me, put lots of energy and excitement into the information and facts so the kids would not only pay better attention, but also become intrigued and find out that science and school could actually be fun! At the end of the day, we asked around the table about what they thought was the most surprising thing they learned that day. Most of them said the fact that a mushroom wasn't a vegetable or a fruit, it was a fungi! They were all so polite to us and the experiment in general. I felt very happy at that, which improved my teaching by a lot. I look forward to doing this again!
