In order to prepare for bioSITE, we had to do some specific things to get ready. The first one was attending the weekly meetings on Tuesday. Those informed us on everything we would need to know for when the day came. During those meetings, we did labs occasionally to help better us for teaching the fourth graders. After a few meetings, I realized how close we became to actually teaching. That's when we split into groups. Everyone picked a topic they were interested in learning and sharing. From there, we created a detailed and fun lesson plan to follow when the curious kids arrived. This included icebreakers, games, ways to teach and mini-labs. For my group in BioSITE, we chose to teach about the vegetables and fruits. When we were teaching we were very clear, descriptive and actually had lots of fun, as did the kids.
