When I was signing up for BioSite I was unsure if I would enjoy it but I actually enjoyed teaching the 4th graders about our chicken family. I learned that kids are more interested in hand on activities such as touching the chicken and picking it up. I was a little nervous in the beginning because teaching kids was something I never thought I would be doing, but once my group started talking and teaching, I was more comfortable. Also the kids were way smarter than I expected, definitely smarter when I was in 4th grade. What I did to prepare for this event was going to training every Tuesday during tutorial and learning the skills and making questions for the 4th graders. The chickens were a really big hit because you could touch them and interact with them. I never interacted with chickens before BioSite so it was really fun and my partner was a professional chicken grabber by now. Teaching the 4th graders was really a fun experience and I definitely want to do BioSite in the spring time.
