Karishma Post 2

The day the fourth graders arrived was somewhat nerve-wracking. Being a person who is naturally awkward around people, I was scared that I was going to mess this up for the kids. However, once I got things started I was pretty calm (for the most part at least). After I got into the groove of things, I was able to connect with the kids. I got them excited for what's to come and encouraged them to interact with the chickens. I feel like I could have been a little more engaging. I was slightly nervous and very stressed, especially on the first teaching day which made it hard to connect with the kids. From the first to the second teaching day, our group had overall really improved. We better interacted with the children and did a better job of getting through to them. On the first teaching day, we were rusty in a way and struggled to get information through to the children. The second time through, our group learned what being around the children was like and we did a much better job. All the lesson planning and lessons with Biret was definitely helpful and much needed. Without all the preparation we had done, I would've been completely lost.
