Prior to teaching the fourth graders, there were some preparations to be done. Every Tuesday, during tutorial, we would meet in Mr. Bursch's classroom to discuss and learn about what needs to be done for our two teaching days. We would go over the material that we would be teaching the kids. We first started with compost. We ran through the whole lesson ourselves as if we were the students. The next BioSite day we did the same thing with a different lesson. Instead, we dissected vegetables. After we went over all the lessons that were to be taught, we got into our groups. Unfortunately, I missed that day. However, Mr. Bursch was able to put me into a reliable group and I was able to teach the lesson I had been dying to teach... chickens! Our group constructed a lesson plan that would be both equally fun and entertaining as well as insightful and information packed. Once our lesson plan was constructed, our group was ready for the big day!
