Before teaching the 4th grade students in BioSite, I prepared about two weeks before starting to teach the kids. First, I wrote the lesson plan out. Since I'm doing compost, I planned to introduce ourselves and compost for about two minutes. Then, in about ten minutes, I let the kids dig in the compost and search for organisms. In another ten minutes, I would stop the kids and teach them about FBI and the trash timeline. In the last two minutes, I would conclude the lecture by asking them what they learned from BioSite and answer any quesgions they have. About one week before starting, I practiced with my BioSite team by saying words that can make the kids pay attention.
