In order to prepare for bioSITE we had to go into tutorial every Tuesday. We would learn and prepare what we were going to teach the fourth graders about. To prepare we would get into groups and do the labs that we were going to give them. After a few tutorials we started to get closer to the time we would be actually teaching, so we picked a topic that interested us between compost, chickens, and plant parts we eat. We then got into groups/teams. They would consist of 2 to 3 people. Then we started to actually plan out are lesson through the last few tutorials we had together. We would look back at the labs we did in the beginning and chose two of them to incorporate them into are lesson plan. We would also include ice breakers and questions for the kids so they can interact with us and have fun. For my group we taught about the plant parts we eat. We did a seed dissection and a fun vegetable and fruit sorting game.
