Amanda's Prep and Training

Getting ready to start training for BIOSITE consisted of showing up to all meetings, every tutorial on Tuesdays, and listening to the subject that was being talked about. The BIOSITE teacher taught us the different activities so that we knew what was the overall work for the stations. We learned about compost, seed parts, the plant parts we eat, and chickens. The things we had learned had involved little experiments and labs to go along with. While learning about the different activities, we had notepads to note down any ideas and the key details. The notepad would correlate similar to what the 4th graders will have. While these next meetings passed, it was time to start forming groups and different stations for the different activities. My partner, Colin, and I chose to be part of the Seed and Plant Parts stations. I would though, would have to either go solo or try to get a new partner to join me to teach for next week. When we got are templet and backpack it came with supplies, organizer, activities answer key, and recommendations to help us be better leaders. The backpack came with two trays, little card activities, and supplies. Later on, we got our moist and dry beans with also fruits and veggies. We organized out routine to be introduction, card plant parts game, Frankenstein plant, seed parts, seed dissection, and microscope views. To be great leaders, we did the same activities the 4th graders would do at out station. When the day came for the 4th graders to show up, we had the station and activities all ready for them.
