Although I did participate in BioSITE last semester, I was still nervous as to whether or not the children would be able to retain the information or if they would pay attention at all. Our first round of teaching children went well and all the kids seemed to grasp what a watershed is. This round went smoothly and had no troubles. Our second round went better than the first one! Our team had to be split into two because of the absence of another team, and although I thought this would end poorly, it actually proved me completely wrong. With this project, I learned many things, but most importantly it allowed me to learn how to be a leader and how to properly guide a group. This is a skill that won't only benefit me in an academic standpoint, but in a (future) professional one. As a whole, BioSITE has been such a beneficial experience, and if we had another semester I would definitely do it again or recommend it to someone else.
