Preparing For Bio-Site

Before we met with the fourth graders we had to train in order to be able to teach them. That's why every Tuesday we would go to Mr Bursch class for tutorial. In his class we would learn different methods of teaching and activities we could do with the kids. A lot of the activities were pretty interesting and they helped me learn new information that I could give to the kids when they came. One of the activities we did was the water shed. In this activity we took a paper and crumpled it, then in the crinkles of the paper we colored mountains, rivers, and civilizations. After, we took the paper and sprayed it with water on the floor. We saw how all the landmarks moved around. In the end we ended up picking the flower dissection station. In order to prepare for our teaching me and my group studied the parts of the flowers and we gained more knowledge on pollinators. We made two big posters that showed the kids information. We also had to pick out flowers for the kids to dissect. We mostly picked out roses, but there was some other kinds that we picked as well. Some other things we planned were games like hangman. After that we just practiced the lesson and we were ready or so we thought.
