Before working with the fourth graders we went through weeks of training. Once a week for 30 minutes we will all meet up and prepare for our teaching experience. We did three activities. They were about watersheds, dissecting flowers, and about worms. We each got to do the activity and experience what the fourth graders were going to do. For the worm activity we observed them and drew a picture of them in their journal. For the flower dissection we took apart a flower. For the watershed station we took a paper, crumpled it up and used different colored markers to represent things in a watershed. This then became a mini watershed model. After experiencing what the fourth graders were going to be doing, I decided to focus on the watershed station. That station was the most fun and interesting for me. I even made a poster with a diagram about a watershed. This was used as a teaching tool and a way for the students to think.  We then got into groups and formed a lesson plan. Our main goals were to get the kids to interact and for them to learn about how to keep our watershed healthy. We were very excited to finally be able to meet the fourth graders and to teach them.
