After Thoughts

When the fourth graders came I got nervous even though this was already my second time. At first I was a bit awkward because I had all these little kids watching me but then I got used to them. We started to give them instructions and information about what they were going to be doing. It was going really well at first but when they started getting flowers it got a little hectic because they started to make a mess. The next group was my favorite one out of them all because they all woulf pay attention and would make conversation with us. They followed instructions and it seemed like they were having fun. One thing that didn't work out though was the hangman. The words were pretty easy for them to solve and me and my partner started to get worried because that we were going to be doing the rest of the time. So last minute I decided to let  them make one for us about something they  had learned. It was actually a success and the kids loved it. I think they had a lot of fun with it because that is what we ended up doing for the rest of the time. But the last group was the hardest of them all. It was the last station and the kids were out of control. We couldn't really get them to pay attention and they were off topic for most of the time. Also they were just trying to annoy us the whole time by making a mess they wouldn't pick up. Overall the experience was okay and I did meet some really funny, smart kids so it was worth it. Some things I would change is to have more games for the kids and to be able to keep them on topic at all times. Also, I think we could have improved our time management because at one point we had gone through everything and there was still a lot of time left. We did learn from our mistakes as we went and in the end it was pretty fun and it gave us a good perspective on what it's like to be a teacher.
