Vivian - BioSITE Blog #2

After all the preparations for the watershed lesson, it was finally Friday,
the teaching day. Initially I thought that I was going to be nervous, however, because I'd volunteered at the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, I thought it was a great opportunity to apply my social/kids skilled that I had develop throughout the two months I was volunteering. In my opinion I think my group and I did a great job at teaching the fourth-grader, because we did the best that we could to inform the kids about the watershed. It groups of fourth-graders was respectful and listened surprising well. However, one thing that we could've worked on was time management. One of the group we encountered was fairly little, so we ended up a few minute early and because of that one of my team mate decided to play a little game. The kids were laughing and having a fairly fun time. Unfortunately I could only teach that Friday, because my teacher did not give me permission to teach a second time. If I had the chance to do this again, I would. Hopefully the Biology class of next school year will enjoy doing BioSITE too.
