What I did to prepar for the day of the teaching, is that I planed out the lesson on a line piece of paper. It took me at least three tries to get it to my liking. After the lesson plan was thought out, I told my brother that I was going to try out the lesson and surprisingly, he actually liked it. Till today he still ask me to do the, “Plant Matching Game” with him. Since I got a positive reaction from him, I thought that the kid would have the same reaction because my brother was also a fourth grader.
The first group came through and was very cooperative, but the second group was so quiet it was almost awkward. The third group however, was very creative and very destructive. They drew their plant and used the beets to color the frankenstein plant they created. One thing that went really well was that everything (the lesson) went smoothly, however one thing I would change is that the timing was always off. The first group was a little short, the second group was too long, and then the third group was better, but still could be better. To fix it I would let them introduce themselves and them continue onto the lesson.
