BioSite was such a fun experience! I loved working with the 4th graders. At first, I was a little nervous before our first lesson because I was afraid that the kids would get bored and wouldn't like us. I also wasn't sure about the limited time we would have with the kids. When the kids arrived to the parking lot, I was so nervous and kept reciting the whole lesson plan over and over. When the kids arrived to our station, I calmed down a little more and was able to get through the lesson. I think Natalia and I did a pretty good job even though one of our group members, Elias, didn't show up. We kept our kids entertained and they seemed to be having lots of fun. Although, one thing we could have worked on was our time management. During our very first station, Natalia and I went through the lesson way too quickly and we had lots of time to spare so we had to keep the kids entertained with a random name game. So our first station wasn't exactly the best. After the first group of kids left, we decided to slow down a bit more and to say more facts to kill time. Our second and third stations went perfectly because we learned from our mistakes. The week after, we had a second BioSite lesson on Friday. That day, I was feeling much more confident and chill. Natalia and I worked on fixing a few more things in our lesson during tutorial and went over it quickly. That day, teaching the kids was a piece of cake. Natalia and I were joking around saying that we would be professional teachers by the end of BioSite. The kids that day were far more enthusiastic and were fun to teach. We also got to try out the new gate at the chicken coop. The kids had lots of fun and loved the chickens. It was pretty sad when it was all over. If I had the chance to do BioSite again, I would!
