The two days of teaching were very fun, more fun then the first time we did BioSITE. The main reason behind this was that I was able to do it with one of my friends. The actual teaching part this time was much easier and less scary. I wasn't as nervous as I was the first time around. The teaching part was also much more organized this time around too. Everyone in my group had their own role which was really helpful because everything was organized. The people in my group were Emelly Aguinaga, Tate Morillo, and Dylan Lawhead. Tate was in charge of teaching the kids about worms, and how they live. Emelly and I were in charge of teaching the kids about worm anatomy. Then Dylan was in charge of telling the kids fun facts and jokes. The only problem we had the first day was that for the first two lessons we didn't time them well. By this I mean that we didn't finish our lesson all the way, but this problem was fixed after the second lesson. From that point on our lesson was perfect. Everything was timed out perfectly. The second day of teaching was by far the best. We had a good rhythm down by that point, and everything was easy. This made everything much more enjoyable. Also, whenever we would have a little extra time left over from our lesson we would show the kids the leaves from the lemon tree. This amazed them because the leaves smelled like Fruit Loops. It was great to see their reactions. Overall, BioSITE was a really fun and educational experience. I learned so much about teaching, and also more about Biology. I also learned things about myself too. I learned that even though your nervous about something all you have to do is get up there and try your best, and also to have fun with it.
