When the time to do this service project came, I was very excited. I did BioSITE last semester too and had a really great experience. This time I knew what to expect and was confident that our group would do well. I worked with Madison, Christina, and Annika. For preparation we discussed teaching styles and potential activities for the 4th graders. We made a poster to explain our project in depth and got very high quality pictures of pollinators. We liked these ideas because it made for hands-on activities and was very visual, a good learning style for younger children. We taught the flower dissection station, so we all had to brush up on our knowledge of the parts of the flower, and then were ready to teach. We laid out our lesson plan with each group member teaching for about 6/7 minutes, which we thought would work well.
