When I was told in the beginning of this semester that we were going to do another service learning project, I was super excited. I knew that I was going to have the opportunity to do BioSite again. I was looking forward to being able to implement what I learned when I taught last semester to what I was going to teach this semester. To prepare for teaching the 4th graders we went to the BioSite meetings every Tuesday during tutorial. The first couple of weeks was about learning the content and subjects we were going to teach to the students and the weeks after were about actually teaching and making a lesson plan. In our group was Zoe, Christina, Annika, and myself. We decided that we were going to do the flower dissection and we started to make a lesson plan. We gave each person a part of the lesson to run. We also made a poster of a flower with all of its structures. Because most, including myself, forgot the anatomy of a flower we all relearned the structures in a flower and their functions. Then on the days of teaching we came to tutorial to set up and get everything ready for the kids.
