A few weeks before the date of the Bio site, We all gathered and thought about many ideas on what to teach the kids. After that we decided to let the kids feed the chickens many types of foods, so we all agreed to put some money on the table for supplies. To start off i went to buy 5$ worth of crickets to feed the chickens to see if they would eat them. The chickens went crazy for the crickets, some even jumped in the air to pick at the container that had the crickets. So crickets was going to be for sure one of the types of foods that we were going to let the kids feed the chickens. Then me and Uriel went down to the library and did some research on other types of food. Some food items really surprised us , like at first i didn't knew that if chickens eat the skin of the avocado it will cause them to have diarrhea. But if you peel off the skin it wont hurt them at all. Also we did some research on meal worms and at first we were afraid to feed the chickens meal worms because a pet store lady said that meal worms can go through the animal's stomach and escape the body if the animal doesn't chew it enough. But luckily we asked if we can feed them to chickens and she said "oh yea chickens can eat meal worms with no problem" since chickens have a good digestive system and its digestive is way different them like a gecko for example. So yea a day before the Bio site we went to the pet store and got live and dried meal worms and 6$ to 7$ worth of crickets. In Total it was about 20$ to 25$ in total. But when it was the day of the Bio site we were all ready.
