For our BioSITE we had the chicken group, in order to prepare we had to come to a few meetings every Tuesday during tutorial. During that time we did activities, split up into groups, and practiced working with kids. When we were put into our groups our goal was to put together the best lesson plan. My group and I wrote out a plan step by step on what we were going to do with our group of 4th graders. We assigned each group member a job, for example who is speaking, who's holding the chicken, who's in charge of the food, and who is making sure everyone is participating. My job was to ask questions and to give interesting facts and all the information they needed to know about a chicken. I also brought food for the chickens, like bread, lettuce, spinach, and radishes. The food was used to keep the kids involved, for example if they answered a question they were offered the opportunity to feed the chicken if they wanted to.
