Overall Performance

      I think that the overall field trip was great, it was better than I predicted it to be. I thought that the fourth graders were not going to engage into the activities that we provided for them. I also thought that we wouldn't have enough time to get all the activities done by the day of the field trip. Although, I was wrong and the field trip turned out to be great.  On the day of the field trip, the children were very excited to see us high school students. They were jumping up and down and smiles were all on they're faces ready to learn. The students knew way more then I expected them to know, each time I would ask a question, somebody was always ready to answer it. They basically knew all they needed to know about the compost. The first round of students that came, there was one kid who always was talking. Every time I would say something about the compost, he would add on to it. I didn't expect that kind of enthusiasm from the students. The only thing that went wrong on that day was the weather. It started to sprinkle and therefore we had to rush our lessons. We took more than a month to prepare something great for the children and mother nature had to ruin it. The worst part is as soon as it started to rain I was getting the feel of being a teacher for once. If I could change one thing, it would have been the weather because the kids and I were having lots of fun. I hope next year they get to come to our campus again, and be able to stay a lot longer. Overall, I had a great time teaching the Booksin Elementary students what I knew. I hope I get to participate in this field trip again next year!
