When I first was offered this assignment by Mr.Bursch I was excited to volunteer, because last summer I got the opportunity to help run a baseball camp with kids ages 6-12 and it turned out to be a success. The preparation we did in the weeks before definitely made the day run smooth. I remembered when they first arrived I was a little nervous because throughout my school years I had always relied on my teachers to teach me, only now 4th graders were relying on me to teach them. When my first group arrived they all seemed very eager and excited to learn, which made it much more enjoyable. As the groups moved on it became easier, I started to see what worked and what didn't through trial and error. The only negative thing was when it began to rain, I was distressed because we did not get through all our groups, all I hope for is the groups I did work with were each able to take something with them about compost. Overall it was a great experience and I was happy to be apart of BioSITE.
